This morning, we got up early for a weekend morning and took Jesse to the airport. He is going to the place that smells like many dogs, also known as his family’s home in Missouri, for Christmas. So, we doggies will be getting fewer belly rubs… After that, we went over to Upper Newport Bay for a walk and some birdwatching.

After that paved road, we branched off into the bushes and a dirt trail. We met not one but three dogs off leash! I was jealous, and pulled away from Mary. I started running in fast circles to show everyone how FAST I can run, and I didn’t listen to Mary calling me back. Chip started to bark at me, and lunged to nip me every time I ran by.

Then, he actually NIPPED me! He corrected me! I was shocked and let out a few whimpering whistles… The lack of physical hurts did not reflect the deep emotional hurt I felt. By the time we got home, I was ok and Chip and I were friends again.

This morning we went to the dog park first thing, when the grass was covered in frost! What fun! I rolled Chip around many times, and he was soaked! We were there for almost an hour, and I was busy making sure Chip didn’t get too focused on mounting any one dog. That meant I was busy running after him and giving him full body slams to knock him off his path so he would follow and chase me. I didn’t want him to get into trouble because then I have to go home, too. No fun.

In the afternoon, Lucy came over to play for a while.

After that, I noticed Albert outside and insisted we all got to go out and play with Albert and Puppys for a while. Chip was not so interested in the playtime, but he enjoyed the sunshine.

Today we went walking all around Lagunal Niguel Regional Park. Jesse played soccer, and he was busy, so we explored. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to chase the geese and ducks that we saw from a distance, but we did get a chance to relax and watch some soccer. So much running around after a ball… and I’m not allowed to join in…Soccer

Then, in the afternoon we went to Chip’s house and met someone new! Clara is very small and very cute. I don’t think we are allowed to play with her yet, but I hope she likes to roll balls for us!
